Medical Imaging Technologies (M.I.T.) has been selected as a provider of medical imaging equipment and service of that equipment by a new medical facility in Florida.

M.I.T. will provide imaging devices and service to the new GuideWell Emergency Medicine Doctors clinic in Winter Park, Fla., as well as other facilities expected to open in the near future.

“This unique medical facility is staffed by emergency medicine physicians and has the clinical capabilities to handle both major medical issues – such as heart attacks, strokes and internal injuries – as well as minor issues, like respiratory illnesses, ear and eye infections and sports injuries for adults and children,” according to a press release. “The medical facility will be operated by Crucial Care, a Jacksonville, Fla.-based corporation that specializes in high-acuity urgent care facility management.”

This model of care brings together two innovators in the healthcare industry.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with GuideWell Health. They share our focus on delivering what’s best for patients, and together we will positively impact a lot of lives,” said Mike Shumer, CEO of Crucial Care. “People deserve access to the right care, at the right time, and at the right location. This partnership is driven to provide patients with access to high-quality care at the best value.”

The new Winter Park facility is approximately 7,500 square feet, with 15 to 20 examination rooms. The exam rooms are designed for quick assessment and treatment of a variety of situations. Additionally, the facility is equipped with onsite ultrasound, CT scan, IV fluids, digital X-ray machines and diagnostic labs.

M.I.T. CEO Rick Player said being selected to provide imaging equipment and service to the clinic goes along with the company’s desire to provide great service and promote quality patient care.

“Being selected to provide the imaging needs for the GuideWell clinics is, of course, a financial boost to MIT. But it allows MIT to showcase its ability to perform to a new customer, GuideWell,” Player said. “We at MIT look forward to a long relationship with GuideWell and its partners.”

Player added that this opportunity is in part possible thanks to M.I.T.’s great relationship with longtime customer Crucial Care.

“Crucial Care is a partner with GuideWell. They are the managing partner for the clinics. We have been the sole imaging provider for Crucial Care since they opened,” Player explained. “M.I.T. has opened facilities in Florida and New Jersey with Crucial Care, they are like family. We work hand-in-hand to insure each clinic opens and runs smoothly from planning to patients.”

Another GuideWell clinic is expected to open later this year in Orlando, Fla.
